Kids LunchboxesChildren need to eat a variety of foods everyday to be healthy. But there's nothing worse than the healthy school lunch, that you took time and care preparing, coming home still in the lunch box or worse still, ending up in the bin. It's not difficult to give children a healthy school lunch that tastes great and is good for them too. You just have to be creative when putting kids lunchboxes together and think outside the square. Also remember, there are some great snack foods available that are yummy, healthy and fun to eat. Important lunch box elements include breads and cereals (bread, rice, pasta etc), fruit and vegetables, moderate amounts of dairy and meats, healthy snacks and remember water is a great lunch box drink if you freeze it the night before. Ask your kids what they'd like in their lunchboxes and tell them what you've packed before leaving for school. If you've packed something that they would prefer not to have, change it and give them another healthy option that they'll be happy with. It may seem like a hassle; however, it's better to give them food that they'll eat and enjoy rather than swapping good food for rubbish with other kids at school or throwing it away altogether. You'd be surprised how much of a positive effect it can have on your child's day when they know that they have a yummy lunchbox to look forward to. Never underestimate the power of kids lunchboxes! ![]() | |
