If you have children, you would understand why we at Kids Connect think this is a great product . Take note of this product recommendation.

What fun activity do you know that can take 10 minutes and be worth 30 minutes of alternative exercise?

Toddler Snack Ideas

Fruit Kebabs

What you need:
- Fresh fruits of all kinds
- Wooden or plastic skewers
Optional - Desiccated Coconut

Cut the fruit pieces into cubes and place in a bowl.
If you plan to make extra kebabs, don't use apples or bananas as they tend to go brown easily.

Sit your toddler at a table or in a high chair and encourage them to help you put the kebabs together. (You'll be surprised how many pieces will be eaten during this process!) Make it fun (and educational) by choosing colour patterns or grouping the fruits. ie berry kebabs, red and green grape kebabs etc. or just get in their and let them do whatever they please!! Let them have fun.

Another good idea is to freeze the kebabs. They taste great on a hot summer afternoon!

If using berries and grapes, remember to cut in half to avoid choking.

What a wonderful Toddler Snack Idea and so much fun.

After School Snack Ideas

Pita Pizza's

What you need:

- Reduced Fat grated tasty cheese
- Alternative Toppings
* Red or Green Capsucium
* Pineapple pieces in natural syrup
* Pitted Black Olives
* KR Castlemaine Nutriwatch Ham

** Try spreading Light Philadelphia Cream Cheese over the tomato paste as an alternative to grated cheese

Grill until cheese has melted or until pita pocket is crisp.

This is a great nutritious snack that your kids will have fun putting together , creating their own uniquely flavoured specials.

NB: Today many homes have blackboard walls in the kitchen area. Why not encourage the kids to write their special pizzas up on the board restaurant style for family and friends to see!

Baked Bean Breville

What you need:
- 2 slices bread. If you prefer white bread, choose a White High Fibre Low GI Bread
- Small 130g can Salt Reduced Baked Beans
- 1 Sunbeam Breville Maker

Place first slice of bread onto heated Breville Maker. Spoon out baked beans evenly onto the bread being careful not to empty too much of the sauce onto the bread and keep at least 1 centimetre in from the crust to avoid seepage out the side.

Place second slice over the top of the beans and close carefully.

Voila - Great Snack that's high in fibre and protein, low in fat and hits the spot after a long day at school. Make sure that you allow to cool though......those beans can get very, very hot!! This is also a great breakfast before school.
