Parent Education Session

October 10, 2011

Our Occupational Therapists will be running a Parent Education Session on Sensory Processing on November 30 2011 at 7pm.

Helping you understand your child’s sensory issues and how to help them.

It is estimated that 1 in 4 children are affected by sensory processing disorders. This session will help you gain a better insight into sensory processing, and help you understand the foundations of our treatment for your children.

What we want you to take home from this…

  • Begin to consider your child’s abilities in relation to their sensory processing efficiency. Instead of viewing it in a good/bad behaviour framework.
  • Understand that sensory processing is not on a conscious level.
  • Be more conscious of ways that we address our own sensory needs.
  • Begin to understand what we can do about Sensory Processing disorders.

Please contact reception for more information and to register your interest. This session is open to interested parents, carers and teachers.

The cost of the session is $55 per family and is claimable through FaHCSIA funding.
